Michelle Leibowitz, Vice President, joined CREA in March 2011 and has been involved in affordable housing since 1997.  At CREA she is responsible for closing LIHTC transactions by reviewing equity proposals, drafting equity documents and coordinating due diligence reviews.  The ten years prior to joining CREA she worked for two national Low Income Housing Tax Credit Syndicators.  She was an asset manager finding solutions for troubled LIHTC assets and most recently as an Assistant Vice President of Acquisitions where her responsibilities included analyzing and structuring LIHTC transactions.  Ms. Leibowitz's first inroad into affordable housing was with legislation and policy at the Massachusetts State House and the Boston Redevelopment Authority.  While at the Boston Redevelopment Authority she was part of the team that helped draft the City of Boston's comprehensive housing strategy which since implementation has overseen the creation of more than 18,000 new housing units.  Ms. Leibowitz is an active member of New England Women in Real Estate (NEWiRE) and is currently the co-chair of NEWiRE's committee on Housing and Community Development.  Ms. Leibowitz holds a master in business administration from Babson College's  F.W. Olin School of Business and a bachelors of science from Boston University.
